Andy Danylchuk, associate professor, fish conservation Going the Extra Mile in Fisheries Science

Andy J. Danylchuk, associate professor of fish conservation, received the award for Excellence in Public Outreach at the 2017 American Fisheries Society (AFS) annual meeting Aug. 23 in Tampa, Florida.  The award is presented to an AFS member who goes the “extra mile” in sharing the value of fisheries science and research with the public through popular media and other communication channels. Founded in 1870, AFS is the world’s oldest and largest fisheries science society.
