Lacewing - Releasing Larvae

Releasing lacewing larvae

Green lacewing (Chrysoperla carnea)  can be purchased as eggs, larvae or adults. Adults feed on pollen, honeydew and nectar and do not eat pests.  Larvae feed primarily on aphids but will also feed on other insects such as whitefly, spider mites and thrips. When prey is scarce the older larvae will eat the younger larvae.

Larvae arrived mixed with rice hulls.  They can be carefully sprinkled where needed.
