Hort Notes: Deer Tick Awareness

Questing deer tick
April 6, 2016

The Blacklegged Tick, also called Deer Tick, is abundant throughout Massachusetts. They can carry the organisms that cause Lyme disease, Babesiosis, and Anaplasmosis. All three diseases are on the rise. While tick-borne illnesses can be very serious if untreated, they are preventable.  It is very important, therefore, to be aware of ticks and to protect yourself while working and playing in the landscape.

One bite can change your life!
