Hampden County 4-H Fair

Event date/time:
Saturday, July 28, 2018 - 12:00am

The Hampden County 4-H Fair celebrates and recognizes the accomplishments of 4-H and youth exhibitors by providing a showcase for the projects that participants have made, grown or raised during the past year.

Horse, Dairy, Beef, Working Steer, Sheep, Goat, Rabbit, Dog and Poultry animal showmanship classes take place throughout the day. Hall and working exhibits, on display the entire event, highlight all areas of agriculture, the arts, technology, homemaking and more.

Participation in the Fair is open to all youth in Hampden County, ages 5-18, in addition to 4-H members in Berkshire, Franklin, Hampshire and Worcester counties. Youth who are not involved in 4-H will have the opportunity to participate, observe, and learn from 4-H members as they do showmanship and other demonstrations. There is also a chance to win ribbons and other prizes.

The Rick Sullivan Memorial Fun Run kicks off the Fair at 9am. Youth of all ages will take their mark at the old Exposition racetrack outside of the Mallary Complex and wait for the whistle. The race is not limited to 4-Hers – it is open to all youth who would like to join. Entrants will receive a free Fun Run t-shirt.

Public attendees are also invited to participate in pedal tractor pulls, veggie races, the scavenger hunt, talent show, raffle drawings and make-it-take-it arts and crafts.

Food and refreshments are available for purchase from the food booth.
