4-H Summer of Science Program Expanded

4-H Summer of Science
May 23, 2016

The 4-H "Summer of Science" includes a variety of exciting program opportunities!

  • 4-H Robotics on June 18th at UMass Amherst is a day for youth ages 8-12 to be immersed in all things robotics!  Explore sensors, learn about logic programming and experiment with friction and movement.  The day will culminate with a fun team challenge.
  • Explore UMass happens June 26-28 on the Amherst campus.  The main tracks will be food science, movie making, veterinary science and exploring the human body with physics.  The conference is open to 4-H members ages 12-16, or in grades 7-11 for the 2016-2017 school year.  Participants will stay in the dorms, eat in the award winning dining commons and get a taste of what life is like as a student living on the UMass campus.
  • National Aviation Day will be on August 19.  Join us for an exciting event in partnership with the National Aviation Academy at the Hanscom base in Bedford.
  • 4-H Car Competitions will take place at some of the 4-H fairs over the summer.  Use the car kit you received at a 4-H program this winter or spring to build your car and compete at one of these fairs.
