Congratulations Horse Program National Delegates

Our Massachusetts 4-H Horse Program delegates have just returned from the Eastern National 4-H Horse Roundup in Louisville, KY competing in Horse Judging, Hippology, Horse Bowl and Communications. Our delegates worked hard to qualify to represent Massachusetts on these teams and devoted many hours this past summer training with their coaches for Nationals.  Each of our teams placed within the top ten in their individual competition and a few of our delegates took home an individual top ten as well.

The Horse Judging team of Noah Carello, Ceilidh Scott, Madison Lane and Katherine Stewart coached by Heather Chmura took home a 5th in Conformation, 10th in Oral  Reasons and 6th Overall.

The Hippology Team of Caitlin Looney, Jackie McNeff, Genevieve Kerr and Sara Rau coached by Cait Beachell placed 10th in Written Exam and 10th in Stations.  Caitlin Looney took home an 8th in Stations individually.

The Horse Bowl team of Veronika Alinskas, Lindsey Nobes, Hannah Pomerantz and Molly Zajac coached by Meagan Welch placed 9th Overall.

The Communications team of Jarrett Cordiero, Julia Harriman, Abigail Rapiejko and Lillian Klosen coached by Darlene Welch placed 3rd Overall.

Jarrett placed 4th individually in his Illustrated talk, Julia placed 4th individually in her Public Speech and Abby and Lillian placed 4th in their Team Presentation.

In addition to competing our delegates also had the chance to visit Churchill Downs and the the Kentucky Horse Park, tour Claiborne Farms and spent their final afternoon exploring the Louisville Zoo.  A huge thank you goes to our coaches for all that they do for our youth, as well as the Massachusetts 4-H Foundation for providing the funding to make this trip possible.  Congratulations to all our delegates, you should all be so proud of your achievements!
