East Wareham

July 2021 was wet, above average sunshine and about average temperature. The average temperature for July was 71.53 degrees; 0.06 degrees above the 30-year average. Maximum temperature of 90 degrees was recorded on the 1st, and a minimum temperature of 54 degrees was recorded on the 31st.  Daytime high temperatures averaged 79.6 degrees, the same as the norm.  Evening temperatures averaged 64 degrees, 0.6 degrees above the norm.  

Sunshine at the Blue Hills Observatory totaled 65% of the possible sunshine hours, 7.9 points above the long-term average. All 31 days of July had sunshine equal to or greater than 60%, but none of the days had sunshine hours greater than 70%.

Precipitation totaled 4.86.  This is 1.54 inches above normal and 4.36 inches of rainfall more than what was received in 2020.  We had measurable precipitation on 13 days; 9 of those days had more than 0.1 inches.  The largest 24-hour rainfall was 1.18 inches on the 2nd. Year-to-date rainfall for 2021 is 28.08 (6.79 inches more than 2020 at this stage), 0.4 inches less than the average year-to-date for East Wareham.
