East Wareham

October had an average temperature warmer than the long-term average for the month, below average sunshine hours and above average rainfall.  The temperature averaged 55.03 degrees, 2.35 degrees per day above average for October.  Maximum temperature of 73 degrees was recorded on the 8th and 13th; a minimum temperature of 33 degrees was recorded on the 30th and 31st. Daytime high temperatures averaged 64.68 degrees; 2.88 degrees higher than the norm.  Evening low temperatures averaged 45.39 degrees, 1.69 degrees above the norm.

Sunshine totaled 54% of the possible sunshine hours, 1 point below the norm, and 1 point better than October 2021.  The Blue Hills observatory had 16 days that were mostly clear (at least 80% of possible) and 6 days with no sunshine.  In East Wareham, 16 days in October were either cloudy or overcast.

Precipitation totaled 6.89 inches, 2.75 inches above the 30-year average and 1.34 inches below this time in 2021.  The largest rainfall came on the 5th, 1.34 inches.  Measurable rain was recorded on 13 days, 11 days of which had rainfall of 0.10 inches or greater. Year-to-date rainfall for 2022 is 40.19 inches; 0.64 inches below long-term average for East Wareham and 12.16 inches below rainfall received at this point in 2021.
