An online meeting hosted by Mary Concklin with the University of Connecticut Extension Program-

Dr. Victoria Smith will discuss the origin of Spotted Lanternfly (SLF), its life cycle, how it spreads, and its host range, where is has been detected and management options. Dr. Smith is the Deputy State Entomologist and Associate Agricultural Scientist at the CT Agricultural Experiment Station, New Haven, CT. She is involved in survey and inspection for exotic pests and diseases, serves on numerous National Plant Board committees, and cooperates with USDA-APHIS-Plant Protection and Quarantine and the US Forest Service.

11:45 am Check-in with Cornell Cooperative Extension for attendees requiring NYSDEC pesticide credits. Not required for holders of a license from a New England State.

12:05 pm Presentation(s) begins 

Presentation(s) will be interrupted at approximate half-point to provide poll question(s) to attendees. These questions must be answered to receive pesticide credits. 

12:55 pm Question & Answer with presenter and meeting host(s). 

1:20 pm Final poll questions and evaluation.

This session has been approved for 1 DEC credit in cats 1A, 10, and 22 and one New England pesticide recertification credit.

How to Participate: 

These meetings are free and registration is required to virtually attend and to receive pesticide license recertification credits. Additionally, proof of participation is required by all state certifying agencies. Please be sure to participate in the in-session polls. Each license holder must register separately and participate on their own devices in order to receive their individual credits. Forms will be emailed  to each individual license holder within a week of the meeting. Please be sure to check your spam or junk folders as occasionally these communications are not recognized by your email host server. 

This session will be recorded and posted to the UMass Extension Fruit Team YouTube chanel. Pesticide credits are only available to attendees who participate in the live session.
