Whitefly - Various stages

Various stages of sweet potato whitefly are shown on underside of poinsettia leaf, note: flat, yellow pupae (with red eyes) of sweet potato whitefly on far right closest to the leaf vein; lighter colored immature larvae, and white, empty skin.

If the “empty” has a T-shaped opening, that is where the adult whitefly has emerged. If this “empty” has a round shaped opening, that is where the adult parasitoid has emerged.

The blackened fuzzy whitefly, is where a naturally occurring fungus has infected the whitefly.
