Each year, UMass Extension in cooperation with the UMass Stockbridge School of Agriculture and the UMass Center for Agriculture, Food, and the Environment, offers this workshop series on topics of general interest to homeowners and small scale farmers. Topics in 2021 include growing blueberries, grapes, and brambles as well as home orchard pruning, grafting apple trees, establishing a home orchard, and managing insect and disease problems in the home orchard.
Workshops are held on Saturdays from Jan. 23 thru March 20, 2021.
For more details and the full schedule, go to: https://ag.umass.edu/fruit/news-events/mass-aggie-seminars-2021.
Pre-registration is required. Participants must have access to a computer or other device and the Internet for these virtual workshops. While a smart phone may also be used, this is not recommended due to the small screen size. The Grafting Apple Trees virtual workshop on March 20 is limited to participants in Massachusetts as materials will be delivered/picked up in person.
