Dr. Amrith Gunasekara: An overview of the California Health Soils Initiative

Dr. Amrith Gunasekara a Science Advisor to the Secretary at the California Department of Food and Agriculture gives an overview of the California Health Soils Initiative, how it is structured, and how it is managed.

The Soil Health Winter Training Event: Critters & Carbon, is a part of Soil Health education program at UMass, supported by funding from Northeast SARE. The first half of this event takes another look at earthworms to ask the question - do earthworms always mean good news for your soil health (Dobson and Johnson-Maynard). The second half of the event takes a look at the carbon credit market for those sequestering carbon (Chay), and ends with a look at how California deployed and manages its statewide soil health initiative (Gunasekara).
