Dr. Annise Dobson a Postdoc in the Yale School of Environment will speak about earthworms and their role in soil nutrient cycling and soil health in perennial systems.
The Soil Health Winter Training Event: Critters & Carbon, is a part of Soil Health education program at UMass, supported by funding from Northeast SARE. The first half of this event takes another look at earthworms to ask the question - do earthworms always mean good news for your soil health (Dobson and Johnson-Maynard). The second half of the event takes a look at the carbon credit market for those sequestering carbon (Chay), and ends with a look at how California deployed and manages its statewide soil health initiative (Gunasekara).
