Transition to Organic Parternship Program Workshop Series

Are you looking to increase or improve your organic growing methods? Join UMass Extension and NOFA/Mass as we review and elaborate on growing organically and up to certification standards!

A mixture of in-person and online technical assistance events will be hosted throughout 2024 on the behalf of the Transition to Organic Partnership Program (TOPP). These workshops are intended for commercial vegetable and small fruit growers.

Brookfield Twilight Meeting

Join Brookfield Farm, the UMass Extension Vegetable Program and NOFA/Mass for a twilight meeting!

  • Kerry and Max Taylor from Brookfield Farm will describe the new well they installed last year that includes a solar pump. The well was installed with support from NRCS.
  • Sue Scheufele, UMass Extension Vegetable IPM Specialist, will lead a field walk and pest scouting demonstration.
  • Maria Gannett, UMass Extension Weed Specialist, will lead a weed walk and discuss weed ID, organic weed management, and the relationship between weeds and soil health.

Presentations 4-6 pm, followed by a light supper.
