East Wareham

July 2023 was wet, average sunshine and above average temperature. The average temperature for July was 76.6 degrees; 5.13 degrees above the 30-year average. Maximum temperature of 92 degrees was recorded on the 29th and a minimum temperature of 55 degrees was recorded on the 31st.  Daytime high temperatures averaged 85.68 degrees, 6 degrees above the norm.  Evening temperatures averaged 67.5 degrees, 4.1 degrees above the norm. 

Sunshine at the Blue Hills Observatory totaled 58% of the possible sunshine hours, 0.5% above the long-term average. Only 5 days had sunshine of at least 90% possible sunshine hours and 3 days had no sunshine at all. At East Wareham, 22 days in July were foggy or cloudy.

Precipitation totaled 3.86 inches.  This is 0.54 inches above normal and 3.6 inches of rainfall more than what was received in 2022.  We had measurable precipitation on 10 days; 6 of those days had more than 0.1 inches.  The largest 24-hour rainfall was 1.27 inches on the 5th. Year-to-date rainfall for 2023 is 30.36 (6.79 inches more than 2022 at this stage), 1.88 inches more than the average year-to-date for East Wareham.
