Chrysanthemum – Rhizopus blight

Rhizopus species are opportunistic pathogens of many fruit, vegetable, and ornamental plants. Spores of this pathogen are common in soil and air and are capable of causing blights on weakened hosts. This chrysanthemum plant showing extensive colonization by Rhizopus was most likely weakened by poor cultural or environmental conditions or another pathogen.
