March was slightly colder than the 30-year average, with below-average rainfall, 1.8 inches of snowfall and above average sunshine.  The temperatures averaged 35.9 degrees, 1.12 degrees per day below the 30-year average. Maximum temperature for the month was 64 degrees on the 30^th and a minimum temperature of 11 degrees was recorded on the 1^st and 8^th.  Daytime high temperatures averaged 44.9 degrees, 0.4 degrees below the norm.  Evening temperatures averaged 27 degrees, 2 degrees below the norm.

Sunshine totaled 59% of possible sunshine hours, 3% above the average.  Sunshine data are from the Blue Hill Observatory where 217 sunshine hours were recorded for the month.  Year-to-date sunshine for 2019 is below normal. 

Precipitation totaled 4.23 inches. This is 1.16 inches below normal.  We had measurable precipitation of 0.10 inches or greater on 6 days.  The largest 24-hour rainfall was 1.44 inches on the 4^th. We have received a total of 14.1 inches of precipitation year-to-date, 1 inch above the average for East Wareham.  We had a total of 1.8 inches of snowfall and the largest 24-hour snowfall of 1.4 inches was recorded on the 4^th.
