The UMass Bay State Livestock Classic show has been held annually at UMass since 1935. The show provides students an opportunity to interact with the public and showcase their skills in livestock showmanship. All animals shown are born at the UMass farms and trained by students. Classes include horses, cattle, sheep, goats, and chickens. The Classic is currently held at the beautiful Hadley Farm Equine and Livestock Education Center, located just minutes from the UMass campus. Numerous family activities are held throughout the day including: meeting the baby animals, face painting, raffles, an egg hunt, hay bale toss, relay races, and arts and crafts. Admission and parking are free and food is available to purchase from the UMass Baby Berk Food Truck. Please note that for the safety of participants and livestock, no dogs are allowed at this event (service dogs welcome).
