The UMass Cranberry Station in East Wareham, the 100-year-old premier research facility on cranberry production, is due to get a laboratory infrastructure upgrade and addition in the next 18 months or so. Funded with $5.75M from the Commonwealth and $2M from UMass Amherst, the construction project is now open for bids. Bid document available here. General bids are due on June 9. Sub-bids are due on May 26. There are walk-through times available, sorted by work type, on May 13.
The scheduled Pre-bid Conference on May 13 is the only time for bidders to access the project site. Only one representative from each firm will be allowed at the Pre-bid Conference.
Due to UMass COVID-19 Protocols, the Pre-bid conference will be held in small groups as follows: General Contractors, Hazmat Abatement and Demolition Subcontractors at 10:00 AM, Fire Protection, Plumbing, Mechanical and Electrical File Sub-bidders at 10:30 AM, Remaining File Sub-bidders and Non-File Sub-bidders at 11 AM. Full nose and mouth coverings will be required by all attendees regardless of vaccination status. Refer to Construction MA Safety Standards for guidance.
