Bee Smart, Amherst!

Event date/time:
Wednesday, April 23, 2014 - 2:00pm to 3:30pm

Join us in commemorating 100 years of Extension Education at UMass at an educational and FUN bee-themed event. UMass is part of Pioneer Valley Bee Week with "Hives, Honeybees, Habitats & Hope."  Various types of hives will be on display including: Langstroth, Top Bar, Native Box, Bumble Bee Nesting Box and and old fashioned skep. Honeybees will be onsite managed by local beekeepers. Take home a list of plants you can grow to increase healthy habitat for our pollinators. Learn about the latest research through studies taking place right on campus.  Surprise your friends and take selfie with our Bee-autiful Bee Pinyata!

Organized by UMass Extension Center for Agriculture, Food and the Environment and co-sponsored by: Piti Theatre Company,  Fernald Club, Student Farming Enterprise, Pollinators Welcome,  Stockbridge School of Agriculture and UMass Dining.  Parking available in Campus Center Parking Garage right next door. Held indoors in case of a downpour.
