Mass. Food Plan Listening Session

Event date/time:
Tuesday, February 3, 2015 - 4:00pm to 5:30pm

A comprehensive Food Systems Plan is being developed for Massachusetts for the first time in 40 years. Your input is needed!

The public, including Five College faculty, students and staff, are invited to participate in this session, designed to inform attendees about the planning process and elicit feedback on strategies for strengthening the Commonwealth's food system. Strategies will include legislative, regulatory and budget recommendations for increasing food production, improving food access and equity, enhancing food safety, and related issues, as well as actions that individuals and institutions might pursue.

Input will be provided to the planning partners appointed by the Mass. Food Policy Council, who have also held listening sessions in eastern Mass.

The event is free and open to the public, and RSVPs are not required. Parking is available in the adjacent Campus Center Parking Garage. For further information, contact Joe Shoenfeld at 545-5309 or shoenfeld@cns.umass.edu.
