Academic Partners at UMass Amherst

The Center for Agriculture works with and provides resources within academic departments at UMass Amherst. Most of these departments are within the College of Natural Sciences, as is the Center itself, although some are within other Schools and Colleges.

National Institute of Food and Agriculture at USDA

The National Institute for Food and Agriculture (NIFA) of the United States Department of Agriculture  (USDA) is the federal partner for Cooperative Extension and Experiment Stations (research) across the nation. It was founded in 2008, replacing the Cooperative State Research, Education, and Extension Service (CSREES).

Barnstable and Plymouth Counties

Barnstable and Plymouth Counties are the only counties in Massachusetts in which county government continues to prode Extension services.

Agricultural Organizations in Massachusetts

The University of Massachusetts works with many diverse Non Governmental Organizations (NGO's) that have an interest in agriculture.

The Agriculture and Landscape program works with a number of professional and grower organizations in the state, the northeast region and nationally.
