December 2023 was wet with below average snowfall, and warmer than average. The temperature averaged 39.2 degrees, 4.9 degrees per day above the 30-year average. Maximum temperature was 60 degrees on the 11th and 19th ; a minimum temperature of 15 degrees was recorded on the 23rd and 24th. Daytime high temperatures averaged 47.9 degrees, 5.2 degrees above the norm. Evening temperatures averaged 30.4 degrees, 5.2 degrees above the norm.

Spotted lanternfly, box tree moth, elm zigzag sawfly, and Asian longhorned beetle are all present in Massachusetts. Reporting new locations where each of these insects is found is still very important. In Massacusetts, you can report each in the following ways:
