Landscape, Nursery and Urban Forestry Program
Landscape, Nursery and Urban Forestry Program
Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and Plant Health Care (PHC) are strategies for managing ornamental plants in landscapes and nurseries in ways that reduce the potential for pest and disease problems. When problems do occur, the practitioner implementing an IPM/PHC approach follows a sequence of steps in the management of the pest or disease that is designed to minimize impacts on the environment. UMass Extension’s Landscape, Nursery, and Urban Forestry Team focuses on equipping professionals in the horticultural industries with tools for implementing IPM/PHC strategies in maintaining our collective landscape.
