Middlesex 4-H Member Theresa Lewis Creates "Fourth H Race"

January 13, 2014

Theresa Lewis is an active, accomplished young woman.  In high school she was involved with the drama team, debate tournament and band.  She has done countless hours of community service work, assisting mentally challenged youth in a local center as well as traveling out of the U.S. to work in underdeveloped countries.  She also took part in her 4-H club's animal assisted therapy program by bringing small animals to nursing homes for the clients to enjoy.   As a member of the Acton C.R.A.F.T. Club, Theresa was involved with newsletter design and photography.  She was a 4-H club officer for many years and submitted award winning records.  Theresa was awarded multiple Achievement medals and also excelled at 4-H Visual Presentations.

In 2011 Theresa was selected as a delegate to National 4-H Conference and came home excited to help establish the "Middlesex County 4-H Teen Task Force", to assist the Middlesex County 4-H Advisory Council.  She decided that the fourth H, the Health H, could use some attention.  In that way the Fourth H Race was born!  Theresa and several other teens led the program for three years, until the time she left for college.  Theresa left the Fourth H Race in good hands and it continues today.
