Fair Logo Design

The Massachusetts State 4-H STEAM festival celebrates all our 4-H members who are Makers!

Exhibitors must be 4-H members who are enrolled and in good standing in the Massachusetts 4-H Program starting in September of 2020 through present. This includes Cloverbuds (ages 5-7), Juniors (ages 8-13) and Seniors (ages 14-18).

The event will be open in February. Any items you make or create on your own, as part of a 4-H project, through the Winter Workshops or in any other way can be entered. All items will be judged and virtual ribbons will be awarded. The Awards program is scheduled to take place on Sunday March 14 (Pi Day!)

The Year Without a Summer: 4-H Projects in a Pandemic” is Massachusetts 4-H’s first literary magazine. An outgrowth of Mass4-H’s Spinning Stories pilot program, we want to hear about how you and your project have spent the season. We are looking for poetry (no more than 50 lines), short stories (no more than 1000 words), and artwork that tells a story about this summer from your project’s perspective.

Online Community Craft Workshop Series

The 4-H Springfield Mass Youth Leaders have created a 4 session workshop series of fun and easy crafts for all 4-H youth. Cloverbuds can participate with support of a family member. Scissors, paint and measuring will be involved. This opportunity was created specifically to connect and engage with other 4-hers throughout the state since all in-person events have been canceled for 2020. The 4-H Springfield Mass Youth Leaders have missed creating experiences with other 4-H participants and this is their way to create a virtual connection and new experience. 4-H youth can register to be a part of this workshop series by emailing ldubois@umass.edu

Bitmoji Classroom
Bitmoji Kitchen Classroom

The 4-H Bitmoji STEAM Classroom is back for 2021! The classroom is for all ages; however, this year’s content is best suited for middle school to high-school aged youth (11-18 yrs.), and not recommended for Cloverbuds.  This class will focus on Citizen Science. How can we become better advocates for our world?

We will learn about Recycling, upcycling, minimalism, green washing, biodiversity, water conservation, drones, reducing our carbon footprint and more! A better future starts with us, and it starts now with education and little changes we can make in our daily lives. Try out fun hands on activities and learn from experts in their field of study. All classrooms are self-paced and are accessible at your convenience.

As always prior content is archived and still available.  Sign up with Lauren DuBois at ldubois@umass.edu
